School groups
School groups are free. Please contact us beforehand to arrange your visit. All visits must be led by a teacher with an adult:pupil ratio of 1:6. Visit our education resources page for materials to help you plan for your visit.
Planning visits
These are free. We recommend you arrange your planning visit when one of our volunteers can be on hand to assist. We will then aim to have a volunteer on hand to facilitate your visit.
Education space
There’s a dedicated space for visiting groups in one of our restored historic railway carriages. It accommodates up to 30 children and can be used for eating packed lunches. Free, but pre-booking is essential.
Youth and Children's Organisations
Free, but there may be a charge for adults. We have worked with the instructors from Hawkhirst Scout Camp to produce simple materials for Explore and Local Knowledge badges. You can loan our free photopacks to help you explore the village.
