A project to build the first filling station at Otterburn for six years was ruled unsafe by the Department of Transport on the grounds that a new access road made accidents more likely, heavy goods vehicles would not be able to turn properly and that the proposal involved the construction of two accesses, both involving right-turning vehicles turning across unrestricted eastbound traffic.
