The new Falstone Assembly Hall ?a great boon to the North Tyne village? was opened on Friday 21st October 1904. The opening ceremony was presided over by Major Savile Clayton DSO of the Chesters and there was a bazaar in aid of funds. One way in which local people had raised money for the new hall was a prize draw for a number of lambs. There was a huge demand for the 6d. tickets and between 3,000 and 4,000 were sold.
