Have you got an image?
We are living in extraordinary times and we have launched an ambitious project to develop a photographic record of the impact of the Coronavirus on everyday life. We are asking people who live, work and visit the North Tyne and Redesdale area to help by capturing images on their phones and cameras of how Covid-19 is affecting their lives and communities.
We would like to invite you to take photographs of life under lockdown and the effects of the virus as you go about your everyday lives.
We have now made some of our Digital Collections available online. There are over 54,000 names in our ancestry database, nearly 2,000 Courant clippings and nearly 2,000 images from the Collier Collection (which is 100 years old). You can search these databases to see if you can find anything of interest or, you never know, you might find a picture of a relative from a 100 years ago. Go one, you know you want a peek!
It's the 75th Anniversary of VE Day and we have a superb digital exhibition to show you as the Centre cannot be open due to Covid-19.
Due to recent Covid closures we have staged the VE Day 75 year celebrations digitally.

As a mark of recognition of his services at Falstone the villagers presented Mr Durkin with a clock which Kenny and Gerry have now kindly donated to the Heritage Centre.Read more ...
