Newbrough and Fourstones
Date: 1875-03-03
There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Newbrough Mechanics Institute. The usefulness of the society and its influence, morally and intellectually, was commented on. In an appeal for financial assistance, the institute was described as a boon to unborn generations and its activities were manifest proof in caring for the moral culture and well being for the sons of toil.
