Hexham Rural Council approved water schemes totalling ?86,000. It was estimated that the Whittle Dene to Haydon Bridge scheme would cost 64,500 and the Colwell to Barrasford, Gunnerton, Chollerton, Humshaugh and Wall scheme would cost ?21,500.
